Action Afloat
School Holiday Boating Camps

Young people between the ages of 8 to 18 are invited to participate in nine day 'camps' held each school holiday period.

Phase one of the program introduces young people to the basic knowledge needed to safely operate a boat in sheltered waters.

Topics include:

In fact everything a young person should know about owning and operating a boat.

Satisfactory completion of phase one is necessary before younkers are allowed afloat.

Basic Boating Skills

After satisfactorily completing the introduction to boating segment younkers are ready to commence learning afloat.

Phase two gives participants the experience and confidence necessary for safe boating.

Subject to the younkers own ability and interest, experience will be gained in rowing, sailing and power boat handling.

Emphasis is on boat handling in harmony with the environment.

Rowing a boat for example teaches participants about wind and current.

Naturally it's not all work, but it is about learning how to have fun afloat with safety.

Adventure Boating

Phase three of the program is available only to Sea Rover members who have attained qualifications as boatcrew.

Sea Rovers set off to explore the waterways, camping overnight at pre-arranged camp sites.

We hope we will see YOU soon!
